There are a lot of types of viruses. Some are just annoyances, some are just spreading (replicating) themselves by infecting computers
and do no harm. However there are forms of viruses that are so harmful, that after one attacks your computer you not only lose your data,
your computer program functionality, but you need to get your computer fixed physically. First virus of such kind was called chernobyl (CIH).
It would rewrite your computer bios and once rebooted it wouldnt start up.
